ADL director Abe Foxman is deeply frustrated.  Only four of the original 56 member nations of ADL's Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) now actively report "hate crimes." (See ADL Losing Hate Law Support in Europe)

Last week he took his concerns to Congress, imploring them to use any political or diplomatic means to pressure European nations to get on ADL's hate law bandwagon again.  Foxman says anti-Semitism is rampant there and governments should pass many new hate laws. Foxman especially wants Congress to renew its dedication to fighting anti-Semitism.  In 2004 Congress responded to ADL demands by unanimously voting to create ADL's Office of Global Anti-Semitism in the U.S. State Department.  Yet, since this ADL front depends for its annual report on OSCE statistics, it is now little more than an office with a name plate on the door.

Foxman's dilemma is heightened by the fact that ADL/Israel have dramatically overused the word "anti-Semitism," labelling anti-Semitic those with legitimate criticisms of Israel.   These include many of the approximately 140 nations pledged to an “anti-Semitic” vote for a Palestinian state in the UN. 

If Congress continues to obey ADL and makes a new push, both in the U.S. and Europe, to "eradicate" anti-Semitism, which types of individuals, churches, human rights groups, corporations, governments, etc. does it condemn?  There are now so very many critics of Israel.

Outside of Zionist-brainwashed North America, with its dumbed-down evangelical heartland, the majority of inhabitants of virtually all nations fulfill Foxman's criteria of being anti-Semitic; i.e., they express "strong" criticism of Israel's mistreatment of the Palestinians and lack of a desire for peace.

Foxman may think he can pervert every other law of God and nature; but for those who cry, "Wolf!  Wolf!" too loudly and long, especially if no real wolf exists, the penalty is to alarm people less and less and finally be ignored.
