Helen Thomas is the first mainline national figure to speak out against Jewish supremacism in our time. The Anti-Defamation League, by smearing her as anti-Semitic and attempting to rescind her honors, is sending an ominous message to all leaders: “Don’t criticize Jews or Israel or we will savage you also!”

Yet as I discuss in my latest Bible study (See, The Power of ‘Sackcloth’ to Save America), Christ expects His followers to be willing to suffer for the spiritual emancipation of others, regardless of the cost. This is what He did in coming to die to redeem all who trust in Him. Such self-denial is the dynamic of His power to redeem. It is also the basis of ours.

Consider the phenomenal, divine protection given to the prophesied two witnesses of Revelation 11. They defy anti-Christ to his face and speak the whole truth in the streets of Jerusalem (Babylon the Great) for three and a half years! Where do they get such power? Answer: they come in “sackcloth.” This symbolizes willingness to suffer and pay the necessary price for God’s truth to prevail. God respects their self-denial and gives them the power and protection to stay alive. He can do the same for us.

If America is to be saved, there must arise a cadre of truthtellers who want God’s power more than safety or reputation. Otherwise forces of compromise, like Joe Farah and World Net Daily, which call good evil and actually give a forum to the forces of anti-Christ (ADL) will only increase. (See, Who's 'Spewing Venom' - Helen Thomas or WorldNetDaily?) This ultimately results in joining forces with evil. As a result, truth will increasingly fall in the street.

Actually, truth from Helen Thomas has already fallen in the street. Even worse, like the two witnesses who finally will be killed and their dead bodies reviled, Helen Thomas’ 60-year reputation is desecrated by WND and the forces of anti-Christ.

This ominously prefigures Christ’s warning that the time will someday come when “all who kill you (or your reputation) will think they do God a service.” (John 16:2)
