Israel’s behavior toward the Palestinians since 1948 is so reminiscent of Nazi mistreatment of Jews in World War II that Israel’s PR representative, the Anti-Defamation League, now attacks any use of Nazi comparisons in public discourse. If Nazi comparisons are banned everywhere, they can also be banned concerning Israel.

Last week Family Research Council president Tony Perkins, defending Christian Colorado baker Jack Phillips (who is being forced to create cakes for homosexual weddings on penalty of huge fines and imprisonment), said on his radio broadcast: “I’m beginning to think, are re-education camps next? When are they going to start rolling out the boxcars to start hauling off Christians?”

ADL national director Abraham Foxman called Perkin’s Holocaust imagery “deeply offensive to Jews.” He said its effect is to “trivialize the Holocaust,” which he says represents suffering exponentially greater than what might be represented by “any contemporary American political issues.” To my knowledge, Perkins and FRC have not responded to Foxman’s absurd accusation.

ADL is the architect of all hate and bias crime laws, both federal and local, today. After passage of their U.S. federal hate crimes law the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act, ADL boasted "Our legal experts pioneered hate crime laws and work to implement them nationwide." ("Problems to Solutions: Building a Better World, ADL Annual Report," adl.org). ADL’s northern branches also pioneered hate crimes laws for Canada, Australia, and its 56-member European hate crimes gestapo, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Yet Christian/conservative “watchdogs” like Perkins, WorldNetDaily’s Joseph Farah, and columnist Matt Barber are terrified to reveal the truth Rabbi Daniel Lapin once declared on Trinity Broadcasting Network: “Secular Judaism (ADL) is in relentless attack on evangelical Christianity.” Instead, in a recent column Barber generically refers to the creators of laws that criminalize Christian bakers, printers and photographers who refuse to custom cater homosexual weddings as “the secular left” and “the enemy.” About four years ago Barber emailed me, criticizing me for criticizing Israel. He said it marred my otherwise notable reputation for opposing hate crime laws. He admitted, however, that ADL is a threat and said something should be done to oppose them. Delighted that at last someone in the pro-Zionist religious right was in favor of speaking out, I eagerly awaited his first article exposing ADL’s conspiracy against freedom. I’m still waiting.

FRC has been forbidden by ADL to compare persecution of Christian businesses by ADL’s anti-discrimination laws to Nazi persecution of Jews. Of course, if this order had come from the much less powerful, semi-hysterical Jewish Southern Poverty Law Center, FRC would have made a media spectacle of it. It's different when the real heavyweight Jewish muscle group tells them what to do. To date the internet reveals that Perkins has had no response.

Meanwhile, across America, from college campuses to the White House, ADL-conceived anti-bias laws, which Christians never resisted in their beginnings and still refuse to blame ADL for, are turning upon evangelicals like cobras, biting them with severe restrictions.

Fox News recently interviewed Todd Starnes about his latest book, "God Less America: Real Stories From the Front Lines of the Attack on Traditional Values," which focuses on the removal of Christian religious liberties in the U.S. InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Michigan was asked to sign an anti-discrimination policy stating they cannot require leaders of their organization to be Christian. "In other words, if an atheist wants to be the leader of your group, you have to at least consider that individual or else you're going to be discriminating against atheists," Starnes says. InterVarsity Fellowship declined to sign the anti-discrimination policy and were told they could no longer be an officially recognized student group. The Bowdoin Christian Fellowship was denied recognition as a student organization for similar reasons, and more than a dozen student groups were forced to leave the campus at Vanderbilt University because of an anti-discrimination policy. One Christian student organization was even asked to remove the wording “personal commitment to Jesus Christ” from their leadership qualifications.

President Obama recently said, “I’ve directed my staff to prepare for my signature, an executive order prohibiting discrimination by federal contractors on the basis of sexual orientation and gender.” This would very largely accomplish the goals of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), passed last year by the Senate.

"This Executive Order will have a sweeping effect on conscience- and faith-driven businesses. If the proposed order is issued, a Christian who owns a business that contracts with the federal government will not be able to use homosexuality or transgender identity as factor in employment decisions, regardless of the business owner's faith convictions. Meanwhile, the government would be able to use 'faith' as the basis for discriminating against potential contractors.

"Furthermore, religious organizations that contract with the government to provide social services such as adoption assistance, disaster relief, health care navigation, preschool education, drug rehabilitation and prison ministry, would be required to hire homosexuals against their convictions. Other ramifications of this order could be that government contractors would be required to provide special restroom facilities for transgendered employees.

"But it goes even beyond this. The existing Executive Order that governs employment nondiscrimination by federal contractors requires that the contractors maintain an Affirmative Action Program actively to recruit members of protected groups. If lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered individuals are now considered a ‘protected group,’ then what's to stop the government from trying to force Christian businesses to actively recruit them as the price of contracting with the federal government?

Summary

It’s been 101 years since ADL was founded. Fearing God’s curse if they criticize Jews and fearing that ADL will destroy them by calling them “anti-Semitic,” evangelical leaders have been protecting ADL from criticism all this time. Meanwhile, ADL has worked incessantly to undermine freedom and oppose Christian values. This increasingly includes criminalization of Christians who attempt to share their faith in public. More boldly than ever before ADL bites the hand that has fed them.

It has been over 30 years since, with founding of the National Prayer Network and publication of my book Israel: Our Duty, Our Dilemma, I have urged the church that it must identify ADL as the central Jewish supremacist “eye of the octopus” devouring civilization. It must stop chopping at a multitude of left-wing tentacles, which only regrow. Yet the religious right continues to not only protect ADL, but worse, its primary information watering hole, Joe Farah’s WorldNetDaily, actually features ADL as a trustworthy guide to Christians concerning how to combat anti-Semitism!

Three decades ago I never dreamt the evangelicals I hoped to enlighten would remain so adamantly protective of their very worst enemy, one now clearly intent on baiting, mocking, and soon even devouring them in bias-crime persecutions. You can be sure that when Jesus’ prophecy comes true and His followers are someday led up to the “synagogues” to be tried and imprisoned ADL lawyers will be pressing the charges. (Matt. 10:7)

All I can say is what God said as the Hebrews went into bondages under heathen captivity they had richly earned because of their stubbornness:

“Oh, my people, why will ye die?” (Ezekiel 33:11)
